English Bulldogs are a breed of medium-sized, stocky and brachycephalic (short-snouted) dogs. These friendly and loyal dogs were originally bred in England in the 1800s for the purpose of bull baiting. Today, the breed is primarily kept as a companion pet and is noted for its friendly and courageous temperament. English Bulldogs are known for their large, round heads, wide-set eyes, and compact, muscular bodies. The coat is smooth and short, and can be found in a variety of colors, such as white, fawn, brindle, and black and tan. The breed is typically quiet and requires only minimal exercise
