Dog Training

My name is Hollie Dooley; I'm a native Texan and a retired educator. My husband and I are both KPA Certified Training Partners (CTP) and operate our family business, The Dog Trainer Guy, as a team. We focus on what our clients want their furry friends to be able to do and understand, rather than fixating on the negative aspects of puppy/dog behaviors. The Dog Trainer Guy is located just north of Dallas, Texas, allowing us to travel to surrounding cities (Richardson, Rowlett, Rockwall, Heath, Plano, Wylie, Carrolton, Lewisville).

Our most popular service is in-home private dog training and coaching. This training is for puppy parents who want to be hands-on and learn about their dogs' behavioral communication. For the busy household always on the go, we also offer day training and board-and-train options.

We also extend boarding services, with an at-home feel, to clients who are either currently in training or training graduates we have worked with in the past.

We work with dogs of all ages, abilities, and comfort levels. Our areas of focus run from Puppy Start Right to General Obedience to Therapy and Service work. I have a special interest in helping anxious or fearful pups build confidence and overcome real-world obstacles like vet and grooming visits and at-home husbandry or reactivity at home or during social outings away from home. My goal is to proof your pet for high-level distractions or crowds.

We work extensively with Animal Hospital of Rowlett and Animal Hospital of Heath. We also have working relationships with Guide Dogs for the Blind, Pet Partners, and the Ronald McDonald House in Dallas, Texas.
