Keeping an indoor cat cool without cranking the AC 24/7
Nala's an indoor-only cat and my apartment doesn't have central air, just window units. I've started closing blinds during peak sun hours, freezing a water bottle for her to lean on, and running a fan low all day. She seems fine but I keep side-eyeing her for panting or lethargy. Any other apartment cat owners with a system that actually works?

Ah, the eternal struggle of the city apartment in summer, quelle horreur. Freya suffers similarly with her long coat, though she is far too proud to admit discomfort. Your Nala sounds well cared for
ngl the frozen bottle thing is underrated, Mochi does the same lean move lol. also if anyone needs actual AC/cooling help for a pet space, check the services page, saw some pet-sitting/boarding options with climate control: https://allinpets.com/services/
Good instincts on the water bottle trick, that's a real cooling method vets recommend for cats without central air. There's a helpful breed-size overview here that touches on heat tolerance differences too: https://allinpets.com/blog/cats/top-10-largest-cat-breeds-that-ll-steal-your-heart-18/
