My entire summer ear-care routine for a floppy-eared breed in Florida humidity

Bella gets a thorough ear clean twice a week minimum through summer, drying agent after any swim or bath, and I check for redness or odor daily basically on autopilot at this point. Floppy ears trap heat and moisture together, which is basically a recipe for infection if you're not staying ahead of it constantly. Florida humidity does not make this optional for a breed like hers.

Such a thorough routine, that daily autopilot check is exactly the kind of habit that prevents a much bigger problem down the road.

Florida humidity really does not play fair with any pet honestly!! Good on you staying this consistent about it, Bella's lucky.

This tracks with everything I've read about floppy-eared breeds in humid climates, glad you've got such a consistent system down. Listing page here if anyone's considering a Cocker Spaniel: https://allinpets.com/pets/dogs/cocker-spaniel/
