Coat management data point: American Eskimo Dog summer shedding
Yuki blows his undercoat hard starting early June, measured roughly 3x the daily brush output compared to spring baseline. Running a daily 10-min de-shed session + weekly bath has kept mats down to zero so far this season. Anyone with a similar double-coated Spitz-type breed tracking numbers like this, or is 10 min/day overkill?

10 minutes a day just to keep up with a dog turning into a snowstorm every June. Sounds about right for that breed honestly
We didn't realize how much daily brushing mattered until Buster's coat got matted one summer, lesson learned the hard way. If anyone's actually looking to get an Eskie, there's a listings page worth checking: https://allinpets.com/pets/dogs/american-eskimo-dog/
Not overkill, that's about right for a double coat in summer, Bear (Malamute) needs the same or worse honestly. Found a solid breed writeup with the coat basics here: https://allinpets.com/blog/dog-breeds/american-eskimo-dog-a-brilliant-mind-in-a-fluffy-white-coat-14/
