Keeping a long-back breed off the furniture during a summer of AC-couch-lounging
Chili is living her best life parked on the cool leather couch all summer, but every jump on/off is a real risk for a Dachshund's back. Finally caved and got ramps for the couch and bed, she side-eyed them hard for about a week and now uses them without complaint. If you own a long-back breed and haven't gone the ramp route yet, do it before an injury forces the issue instead of after.

We did the same thing with Buster once he started slowing down, ramps took some getting used to but so worth it for his joints. Smart move getting ahead of it with Chili
ramps are so underrated fr, wish more people knew this before getting a dachshund not after. listing page here if anyone's curious about the breed: https://allinpets.com/pets/dogs/dachshund/
Wish I'd known this with my last dog, back in my day nobody talked about ramps, dogs just jumped and you hoped for the best. Glad folks are smarter about it now. General safety piece here has some good summer reminders too: https://allinpets.com/blog/dogs/rules-for-spending-time-with-your-pet-outdoors-in-summer-20/
