Peanut's breathing gets loud enough to hear from another room this time of year

Alabama humidity plus a flat face is just a rough combination, full stop. She's on a strict no-exertion-past-9am rule now and I've got two different cooling mats rotating through the freezer at all times. People joke about the snoring like it's cute (it is, honestly) but the breathing effort underneath it is something I take dead serious every summer.

Ah, the paradox of the brachycephalic charm, adorable to behold and genuinely demanding to care for properly. You clearly understand the difference, Peanut is fortunate

This is exactly the level of seriousness every brachy breed owner should have, not everyone treats it this carefully unfortunately. Current listings for the breed here if anyone's researching: https://allinpets.com/pets/dogs/english-bulldog/

THIS!! People always laugh about the snoring but don't clock how much actual WORK that breathing is for a brachy breed in humidity!! Glad you're staying on top of it, there's a really thorough new guide on exactly this breed that just dropped: https://allinpets.com/blog/dog-breeds/english-bulldog-breed-guide-temperament-health-care-57/
