The logistics of a Great Dane during a heat wave, an incomplete list of problems
Moose does not fit in the shade patches that exist in my yard. Moose does not understand that lying directly on the (hot) driveway is a bad idea. Moose also does not understand that he cannot fit on my lap for cool-couch-cuddles no matter how hot he is. Being a giant breed owner in July is mostly just problem-solving for a dog who refuses to acknowledge his own size.

Had a big dog myself years back, giant breeds and heat management back in my day mostly meant a kiddie pool and hoping for the best. Sounds like not much has changed there.
