Tick-checking a dog roughly the size of a small couch takes actual scheduling

Moose has so much surface area that a "quick check" isn't really a thing that exists for him, I've started blocking out real time for it after any yard session, working through him section by section like I'm detailing a car. Giant breed owners, does anyone else's tick check basically require its own calendar slot at this point?

Sounds about right for a dog his size, Clyde's ears alone take me a good while, can't imagine a whole Great Dane's worth of ground to cover.

The "detailing a car" comparison is extremely accurate honestly, big dogs are a whole project. Listing page here for anyone considering a Great Dane: https://allinpets.com/pets/dogs/great-dane/

Surface area really does scale the whole process up, a giant breed check is a different task entirely than a small dog's. There's a solid resource on proper technique that applies regardless of size: https://allinpets.com/blog/dogs/tick-prevention-for-dogs-62/
