Bengal energy levels — am I doing enough or too much?

Sage is 2 months and already climbing literally everything in my apartment, which I knew was a Bengal thing going in but I underestimated the intensity (I think — correct me if this sounds normal). I've read mixed things about whether Bengals need more structured play than other breeds or if it's mostly just "let them climb." I want to make sure I'm giving her the right kind of enrichment, not just more stuff, since I know quantity and quality aren't the same thing with high-energy breeds. What's actually worked for other Bengal owners?

Worth noting Bengals are one of the few domestic breeds where breeders specifically screen for "wild type" temperament traits depending on generation distance from the original hybrid cross. If Sage's breeder can tell you her generation (F4, F5, etc. relative to the original Asian leopard cat cross), that can actually help predict activity level trajectory as she matures.

What you're describing is normal and actually expected for the breed at this age — Bengals retain a lot of their wild ancestor's activity patterns (they're an Asian leopard cat hybrid lineage). The intensity usually moderates somewhat with age but rarely disappears entirely. Structured daily play sessions (10-15 min, wand toys that mimic prey movement) tend to satisfy the drive better than free-roam climbing alone.

ngl bengals are basically a different species lol. my cousin has one and it does parkour off the walls daily. sounds like you're already doing the right things though, just gotta keep up with her
