Closing out a humid Savannah July with the heartworm conversation I probably should've had in J

Boris gets some screened porch time most evenings, historic house, plenty of gaps in old screens if I'm honest with myself, and the vet used his last visit of the month to really drive home how much that setup matters here specifically. Renewed his prevention with zero hesitation after that talk. Ending the month glad I didn't wait until August to sort this out properly.

Good way to close out the month, better late than never on something this important. Boris is lucky to have you paying attention to the details of that old house.

Screens and humidity really don't mix well when it comes to keeping mosquitoes fully out, glad you got ahead of it before August. If anyone's curious about the breed, listing page here: https://allinpets.com/pets/cats/siberian/

Old Southern houses and their character-filled but leaky screens are exactly the setup that makes this conversation necessary, good on the vet for being direct with you. There's a thorough piece on this exact scenario: https://allinpets.com/blog/dogs/heartworm-prevention-for-dogs-doses-testing-and-treatment-63/
