Finn's supervised pool sessions and the mosquito conversation that follows
He's a total water baby, true to the breed's whole reputation, splashing around in a kiddie pool on the patio most warm evenings while I supervise. Realized afterward that all that outdoor time by standing water is exactly the kind of exposure that matters for prevention, pool water attracts mosquitoes even when it's just a small kiddie pool. Vet confirmed we're doing the right thing keeping him on prevention year round given how much outdoor time he actually gets.

A water-loving cat splashing in a kiddie pool is the mental image I needed today, that's delightful. Smart of you to connect the dots on the mosquito exposure too.
Never knew this breed loved water like that, sounds like a whole different kind of cat to own honestly. If anyone's curious, listing page here: https://allinpets.com/pets/cats/turkish-van/
Good catch connecting the water time to mosquito exposure, most people wouldn't think about a kiddie pool that way. Solid piece on why outdoor exposure matters for prevention: https://allinpets.com/blog/dogs/heartworm-prevention-for-dogs-doses-testing-and-treatment-63/
