Keeping window time limited without Luna losing her whole personality
I think Luna's entire day used to revolve around her window perch, but with the afternoon sun so intense now I've had to close those blinds for a few hours a day. She's been noticeably more restless during that window, meowing at the glass a bit. Trying puzzle feeders and a cat tree in a shadier spot but it's not quite the same for her. Anyone else had to cut back a cat's favorite sunny spot this summer and found something that actually filled the gap?

We went with a (all natural, no synthetic tint) UV window film instead of blocking it entirely, keeps some of the warmth down but she can still see out. Might be worth trying if the puzzle feeders aren't quite cutting it
Nala does the meow-at-the-glass thing too when her spot's blocked, so relatable. Puzzle feeders have honestly been the biggest win for us during those hours
Window-perch withdrawal is a real thing for sun-loving cats, the visual stimulation matters as much as the warmth. A rotating perch to a shadier east-facing window in early morning can sometimes recover some of that without the afternoon heat risk.
