People assume Pixel's thin curly coat means basically nothing to check for, not accurate
The coat's low-shedding and fine, sure, but that doesn't mean less risk of skin issues underneath, if anything it's easier to spot something once you actually look since there's so little fur in the way. Vet confirmed indoor cats still need heartworm prevention regardless of coat type too, coat has nothing to do with mosquito exposure at all. Started taking his checks more seriously after that whole conversation.

This is such a good reminder, easy to assume less fur means less to worry about when it's really the opposite in some ways.
