Small dog, small bite, big reaction apparently

Gizmo's been dealing with an itchy patch near his tail for about a week and I genuinely could not find a single flea on him no matter how hard I looked. Vet confirmed it's a flea allergy reaction, just needed one bite to set it off even in a dog with basically no visible infestation. Toy breeds really do get the short end of the stick on skin sensitivity sometimes.

Poor Gizmo, glad the vet figured out what was actually going on instead of you having to keep guessing on your own.

Toy breeds really do react harder to less, seen the same thing with Pepper more than once. Listing page here for anyone considering an Affenpinscher: https://allinpets.com/pets/dogs/affenpinscher/

One bite triggering a full reaction tracks with what a lot of small sensitive breeds deal with, more common than people realize. There's a solid new piece on this exact scenario: https://allinpets.com/blog/dogs/flea-allergy-dermatitis-in-dogs-signs-causes-and-treatment-64/
