Storm just hit 4 months and the energy is INSANE — Husky owners, does this peak or get worse
I want to ask something honestly because I am starting to feel a little overwhelmed. Storm is now four months old and the amount of energy he has seems to increase every week rather than decrease. He runs through the apartment, he destroys anything left on the floor, and even after a long walk he does not seem tired. I have read that Huskies are a high energy breed but I did not expect this intensity at such a young age. Does this continue to increase, or is this close to the peak? I want to prepare myself properly rather than be surprised again.

This is a textbook Husky adolescence question, Omar — we cover the safe ways to manage high energy and heat together in our summer outdoor guide: allinpets.com/blog/dogs/rules-for-spending-time-with-your-pet-outdoors-in-summer-20/ — and if a local trainer for structured mental work would help, you can browse options here: allinpets.com/services

I don't have direct experience with Huskies, but I think what Derek and Marcus said about mental exercise applies pretty broadly across high energy breeds? I've read similar things about working cat breeds too, actually, where puzzle feeders make a noticeable difference. I hope it helps, Omar — sounds like you're already paying close attention which is the important part.
Derek's right that mental fatigue matters as much as physical. Working and northern breeds especially need a job, even a small one. Teaching Storm to "work" for his food via puzzle toys, or short daily training sessions, will tire him out more effectively than another lap around the block ever will.
This is close to ramping up, not peaking. Husky energy typically intensifies through adolescence, roughly 6 months to 18 months, before it levels off. What you're seeing at 4 months is the early stage. The fix isn't more physical exercise alone — mental work (puzzle feeders, scent games, structured training sessions) tires a Husky out faster than just running them. Pure physical exercise on a high-drive breed just builds endurance.
