Neighbors already popping off firecrackers this week and Nacho has turned into a different dog. Scratching at the door, barking non-stop, my downstairs neighbor left a note. He's never done this before, always been chill when I go to work. Is this separation anxiety or just noise stress? And is there actually anything that works or am I stuck with an angry note taped to my door all July?

I think it's probably both feeding into each other honestly. Starting some calm-departure practice now, even just five minutes a day, could help before it gets worse this weekend.
This breed can be surprisingly clingy for how tough they look lol. If it doesn't ease up in a week or two I'd genuinely look into a certified trainer, not just youtube tips, someone who can actually watch Nacho and tell you what's driving it.
