With brachycephalic breeds there's also an additional factor — they swallow a lot of air when they eat (related to the shortened airway structure), which compounds digestive upset. A slow feeder bowl and smaller, more frequent meals can both help reduce the GI distress independent of the food itself.

One thing that helped us was keeping a little food diary for a couple weeks: what went in, what came out, how he acted. Sounds tedious but it made the pattern obvious fast.
