Rainy week, long ears, and one knot I almost missed

It rained almost every day this week. Biscuit comes in from the yard with wet ears and a little mud on the tips. Tonight I found a tangle behind her left ear, small and tight, close to the skin. I worked it out with a comb. I had been towel drying her and calling it done, and that was my mistake. Is anyone else changing their routine now that the weather is turning?
